3D and animation Books

3D computer graphics can be divided into three basic phases: Modeling, Scene layout and Rendering. In the modeling phase, the 3d objects are created. The Scene layout phase involves the distribution of those objects, defining colors and textures, placing lights and adjusting cameras. The Rendering process is the final step of creating the actual 2D representation from the previously setup 3d scene. This process requires a large amount of prcessor power and sometimes is distributed over a network of computers normally called "Render Farm" where each machine renders only a part of an image. The resources in this section will show you how to master the exciting world of 3d rendering and animation and 3d game programming.

Note: CD-ROM/DVD and other supplementary materials are not included as part of eBook file....

The Art of 3-D Computer Animation and Imaging (Design & Graphic Design)

Many computer animation books focus on one specific program, and if any historical information is referenced, it is merely to put the program into perspective. While this approach is useful for artists who need to learn more about an application, it creates tunnel vision for anyone new to the field who is trying to get oriented. The Art of 3-D Computer Animation and Imaging escapes this trap by deftly illuminating the history of computer graphics and animation. It brings the reader up to s...

3D Modeling and Animation:: Synthesis and Analysis Techniques for the Human Body

3D Modeling and Animation: Synthesis and Analysis Techniques for the Human Body covers the areas of modeling and animating 3D synthetic human models at a level that is useful to students, researchers, software developers and content generators. The reader will be presented with the latest, research-level, techniques for the analysis and synthesis of still and moving human bodies, with particular emphasis in facial and gesture characteristics. ...

Functional Imaging and Modeling of the Heart: 4th International Conference, Salt Lake City, UT, USA, June 7-9, 2007 (Lecture Notes in Computer Science)

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Functional Imaging and Modeling of the Heart, FIMH 2007, held in Salt Lake City, UT, USA in June 2007. The 48 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. The contributions describe both experimental and computational studies and cover topics such as imaging and image analysis, cardiac electrophysiology, electro- and magnetocardiography, cardiac mechanics and cl...

Advances in 3D Geoinformation Systems (Lecture Notes in Geoinformation and Cartography) (Lecture Notes in Geoinformation and Cartography)

This unique book focuses on comparing several types of 3D models. Due to the rapid developments in sensor techniques a vast amount of 3D data is available. Effective algorithms for (semi) automatic object reconstruction are required. Integration of existing 2D objects with height data is a non-trivial process and needs further research. The resulting 3D models can be maintained in several types of 3D models: TEN (Tetrahedral Network), Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) models, Regular Polytopes, ...

3D Facial Animation- Recreating human heads with virtual skin, bones, and muscles

The creation of computer-animated human faces is a long-standing and challenging problem since the early 1970s. There are numerous approaches to facial animation, but to this day no general-purpose system exists that solves the problem in a manner satisfying the needs of all practical applications. An obvious approach to achieve generality is the simulation of the inner workings of a real face. The ultimate goal is to have the full range of conformation and expressiveness in the face emerg...

Digital 3D Design

"Digital 3D Design" tackles every aspect of this cutting-edge field, offering clear explanations backed up by brilliant illustrations that bring even the most advanced concepts to life. Take a look at 3D in the real world as you cover the ways in which 3D graphics are used by designers working in advertising, industrial prototyping, art, and entertainment. Bridge the gap between conventional 2D and 3D design as you learn how to think in 3D, cover the rules of perspective, and learn how to simula...
