This catalogue documents all the paintings and sculptures that have been added in the last 15 years to the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in America. The works included are primarily by American and European masters of the 20th century, with a particularly strong representation of contemporary works. There are also a few oriental and pre-Columbian pieces and some examples of 19th-century art. Each work is reproduced with an individual critical essay, a biography of the artist and full documentation of exhibition, publication history and place of origin. The author was previously curator at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
