This is a collection of ten 1000×1000 pixels seamless textures. These textures were created using Filter Forge plugin. And they are free. Yes, FREE.
Filter Forge is an amazing new Photoshop plugin that lets you create your own filters (Standard and Advanced editions) or to run already created ones (Basic edition) from a gallery of more than 2500 user submitted filters. You can read a tutorial I wrote about creating a rocks textures using Filter Forge, to learn more about this plugin.
You can also download a 30 days fully functional demo version of Filter Forge and try it yourself. Or you can download any of these ten huge 1000×1000 grunge, rusty and dirty textures.
These are smaller resolution samples of the textures.
The final size of each texture is quite larger than these ones. And they are tileable!

These are pretty much the same ones you will find in 3d Game Textures. Its a great book and the tutorials are really easy to follow and understand. I would be willing to bet whoever made the ones on this site used that book. They look almost exactly the same.

Hi Keith, that’s a great book, I didn’t know about it.
These textures were made with Filter Forge and I picked them from a library of over two thousands textures.
If you read the article carefuly, you will see all kind of links to Filter Forge site, including the texture authors’ profiles and more.

Hi Keith, that sure does look like a good book. I can promise you that I for one haven’t read it but I will order it. Filter Forge makes it easy to make filters without any tutorials. I don’t mean to advertise for them, but it’s really really good.
