Add photoreal images, abstract designs, and animation to your long exposure photos and timelapse. Pixelstick reads images created in Photoshop (or the image editor of your choice) and displays them one line at a time, creating endless possibilities for abstract and/or photorealistic art. Taking this one step further, Pixelstick can increment through a series of images over multiple exposures, opening up light painting to the world of timelapse, and allowing for animations the likes of which have never before seen.

The concept of dodging and burning is relatively simple. Make one part of the image lighter and one part of the image darker. You can choose to make highlights lighter or darker and vice versa with shadows. A High Pass filter will allow you to separate the highlights and shadows from midtones. Using a blending layer like “soft light” you can then blend the layer seamlessly with the original image. The result is that your highlights will be lighter and your shadows will be darker. You can then decide where to make this effect visible using a layer mask. Tutorial by Phlearn

The concept behind this piece, by FlewDesigns, came from the inspiration the author took from both the movies 'The Prestige' and 'The Illusionist'. He wanted to incorporate the magical feel and the abilities of this one magician but also include the theory of the illuminati new world order, So the use of the letter burning with the symbol of the order and the symbol made out of water. Overall this piece is a combination of OTT use of objects with the right amount of concept. Download the final image here.
