Animation is the rapid display of a sequence of images of 2-D artwork or model positions in order to create an illusion of movement. It is an optical illusion of motion due to the phenomenon of persistence of vision. This could be anything from a flip book to a motion picture film. In Adobe Photoshop CS2 and previous versions you can achieve animation effects and certain level of interactivity such as Gif animations and Javascript rollovers using the bundled ImageReady CS2 software.
The new release of Adobe Photoshop (Photoshop CS3) does not include ImageReady anymore and huge load of animation and interactivity features have been added to the main program.
